Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Point

Meraki Access Points are used across our entire organization, including multiple departments. One of the main reasons I like Meraki is that it is all managed through the cloud. I can pull reports, configure, and manage Access Points all over the place from my desk. Prior we had various vendors in each building all with a different management client or protocol.

Pros

  • Ease of Management from a central cloud location.
  • Controls are relatively easy to use once you become familiar.
  • Co-terms my license every year so that it is a simple single renewal.

Cons

  • As, AP's Meraki is great! MDM mobile device management - we also use Meraki to help with mobile devices. It works, but not flawless.
  • A positive impact is that we spend less (almost no) time dealing with Access Point management.
  • A negative is the annual license renewal. While not currently overly pricey, the AP's are useless if you don't keep your license current, so it is a requirement.
Prefer Meraki, obviously, as we have used them for 10 years. Performance has been good, and you just can't beat easy to manage.

I've only had to reach out to support on rare occasion, which is a big plus right there. When I did, it was without issue.
