Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus Series Switches

We use Cisco Nexus Series switches in our datacenters. We really like the performance of this equipment and the fabric path functionality that eliminates any type of loop at layer 2. As a result, we don't have spanning-tree problems.

Pros

  • performance
  • throughput
  • loop-free fabricpath

Cons

  • web upgrade
  • high performance
  • loop free fabricpath
  • robust
very easy to operate, the commands are the same as other Cisco switches, simple connectivity like any switch.
greater robustness, but the biggest advantage is the fabricpath that routes between paths and eliminates the loop, avoiding problems such as spanning-tree

Do you think Cisco Nexus Series Switches delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Nexus Series Switches's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Nexus Series Switches live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Nexus Series Switches go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Nexus Series Switches again?

Yes

They are excellent for environments where there is a need for a robust, reliable switch with high performance and in environments connecting to servers and data centers. It probably does not fit as a switch for connecting end points such as computers, printers and other equipment, as it is a very robust device for this use.
