Cisco Routers NCS 5000 Series Routers

We use in our metro aggregation. It helps in implementing all L2VPN and L3VPN solutions in our metro. Also it helps in automating the network device management. In L2VPN we are implementing point to point service which achieved by EVPN VPWS service. Also our metro is running with ISIS and BGP for control plane and signaling the services. In data plane we are using MPLS. All these are achieved smoothly using NCS 540 series Cisco Routers.

Yes, absolutely. In order to bring and onboard more Cisco devices, compatibility with other domain devices helped a lot. Especially Cisco has a wide range of products from all domains of networking, including wireless, firewall, other switches, etc. which reduced the operational overhead in the network operation team. A single point of central management tool can maintain and monitor most of the devices since they all are from the same vendor.

We use routers in our metro aggregation network as I said. There even though we have perimeter security devices are implemented, we have installed other security measures supported and provided by Cisco Routers. These are industry standard protocol. In ISIS we use MD5 authentication and in BGP TCP AUTH we use these protocols secure our network in any man in the middle attack.

Cisco's fast forward routing and well designed data plane operations makes biggest impact in delivering large data contents in very short duration. Other routers are often failing in routing heavy amounts of data. This may bring up when memory overflow or cpu over processing happens. But Cisco Routers never encounters this issue as it has dedicated hardware for dealing with high volumes of data. Also, the software part supports state-of-the-art technologies, which helps fast forward the data plane.
