Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall

We use Cisco Secure Firewall as our Internet Edge Firewall, VPN firewall.

Pros

  • IPS
  • AVC
  • Visibility
  • Security Intelligence
  • Remote Access VPN
  • Site-2-Site VPN

Cons

  • When using the device with local manager, it could be nice to configure all LINA parts through CLI
  • ASA to FDM combatability
  • Grouping of SGTs
  • Higher throughput
  • More visibility
Cisco Secure Firewall aka Firepower has a more visibility than the ASA, specially with use of FMC. The Secure Firewall also adds a lot of security features, with IPS, IDS, AVC, Security Intelligence, Identity Mapping and so on.
