Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall
Basically securing the network, also segregating different VLANs to keep devices in their own sections.
Pros
- It's good at segregating networks and ensuring that you only give the access that you need to give. Especially with medical devices, you want to only give the access that they need and keep them in their own separate areas so that they can't just communicate with the rest of the network. It's also good at the border for keeping attackers out of the network.
Cons
- I mean I think a lot of the technology with managing them is getting better. There's a few cons to the new firewall management console. You can't sort through routes or I think you can with interfaces now, but there's a few caveats that they haven't really worked out yet, but they're implementing AI into it, so it's getting to be a lot easier to use.
- I think one of the best things is Cisco support is anything goes wrong or you need assistance with anything, you can always reach out to them and yeah, their products are stable and secure.
I personally didn't evaluate any other products. We were already working with Cisco, so just keep upgrading.

Cisco Secure Firewall Feature Ratings
Cisco Security
It definitely plays a huge role in keeping patient data safe, especially in the healthcare industry. That's the main focus. Making sure that information doesn't get out and it's secure as well as having high availability and making sure they can't take down our network, especially with DDoS and other attacks. I think the increased risk and recent attacks that have happened over the past few years, but I think it's been an ongoing situation, but I think just the increased risk in the last few years. I don't know exactly when they bought the firewalls.
I think we had always used them. I only started four years ago, but the company had always used Cisco products. I think they were just the best of the best.
They could handle more traffic, they worked better. They were easier to manage, those sorts of things.
Not yet, No.
