Overall Satisfaction with CompAnalyst

I utilize CompAnalyst on a regular basis when I need to find accurate compensation information in a particular geographical area within a specific discipline. I can customize my searches based on company size, industry and job family. It allows for more accurate job pricing to keep us competitive in both rural and urban markets across several regions.

Cons

  • the user interface is not very intuitive, takes some time to get used to
  • do not like the default to national rates unless you check it off
  • It has kept us competitive
  • It has allowed us adjust our pay to retain key people
  • taken the guesswork out of pay scales
It could be a little more user friendly but once you get used to it it is fine. I love having a tool at my disposal that is current and accurate. I also like the fact that it keeps adding jobs and creates an broad database across multiple industries and even within industries to compare "apples to apples".

It is a great tool to have if I need to make my business case for why we did or did not adjust a certain pay scale based on comprehensive data from CA. I can present a very strong case with real data to approve or reject a request for an adjustment or offer that is above or below our pay scale.
