Overall Satisfaction with Concrete5

Concrete5 is my Content Management System of choice for implementation of my customer's websites. I install it for my customers as it is, in my view, the simplest of content management systems for the end user/editor. It minimises the amount of training I have to provide for the individuals who take on the editing of the website. Whilst being a simple to use system it also allows me to create fast, secure websites built to my clients specification.

Pros

  • Highly extensible

Cons

  • Poor developer documentation
  • Could do with editor profiles already added so permissions dont have to be set
  • Doesn't have a very large marketplace so addons need to be created from scratch
  • Concrete5 has speeded up my website creation process
  • With the use of templates and a preprocessor style sheet language alterations to basic design are easy
Concrete5 is by far the easiest for the end user. The user who edits the website can do so with very little training and not just with regards to the content. New pages and functions are easy to create and install. SEOand contact form functions are built in as standard.

Concrete5 was created as a content management system from day one unlike its main rival WordPress. This has meant that whilst WordPress has only just caught up with regards to the block construction system it has done so at the cost of website speed. Concrete5 is lean purely as it was built as a CMS and doesnt suffer with bloated code.
