Great for end users. Good for developers.
Overall Satisfaction with Concrete5
I use Concrete5 for pretty much everything from off-the-shelf web sites and for custom solutions with third party integrations.
Pros
- Easy for non technical users to edit content
- Curated marketplace of free and paid extensions at a fair price
- Good platform for custom development and further integration
- Reliable and secure
- Easy to manage
Cons
- Too much wisdom is lost in the depths of Slack
- With each new release, the infrastructure increases in complexity and leaves the documentation further behind.
- Good enough to base a business on implementing Concrete5 sites and extensions
- Some time is lost on code archaeology where interfaces should have been better documented
I adopted Concrete5 after an end-user trial. With a variety of well known and lesser known CMS (including the above) in their fresh install state, I asked a group of users to register an account and then add a page with some text and an image on it. Concrete5 came out top by a long way.
