Overall Satisfaction with Conga Composer

We currently use Composer to develop word document reports that pull information from various salesforce reports that are either meant to only be utilized internally or that are to be shared with our stakeholders. This amounts to about ~300 documents generated in a year. It is more flexible than a mail merge. It so far meets our needs well and we hope to deploy it for additional solutions this year.

Pros

  • Pulls in data from various sources
  • Allows for customized reports
  • Functionality to export reports as well as save to records

Cons

  • It is challenging to go from solutions to templates and then to each account record to generate - is there a way to generate for all?
  • the search for reports is unwieldy - can there be a "recents" to cut down on what reports we are searching through? or a way to view folders.
  • i have tried saving time by having conga composer up on several records and you can't generate records. again, if there is a way to generate for all?
  • Ability to create documents more frequently and in a timely manner
  • Ability to quickly develop stylized documents with minimal impact when data is imported
I think that having to toggle between composer and templates can sometimes be unwieldy as well as having to go to each account page to generate a report - is there a "generate for all" option? It would also be great if conga also had the functionality to connect with google drive or box or the option for also generating a URL when it is saved to the salesforce record. the reports are generated for an external audience and it would be so powerful if it supported link sharing.
It has really allowed for more frequent personalized reporting for our stakeholders and has definitely cut down on mail merges and errors that could occur through more manual processes.

It so far has been well-suited for individualized reports via microsoft word. We are looking to see what possibilities there are with excel reports and are excited about that. It might be less appropriate for less complex reports because the set up can be more complex than a simple mail merge. however, ability to generate and then save/email directly in salesforce is fantastic.
