Overall Satisfaction with Control-M

We use it to create job flows, analyze run time and completion results, and investigate failures. As a developer, I mainly use Control-M when creating new jobs and when jobs fail.

Pros

  • Control jobs flow.
  • Maintain complex dependencies.
  • Allow to configure special cases.

Cons

  • Nothing comes to my mind.
  • I am not involved in cost estimation and analysis.
  • Service is good and fast.

Careful planning provides me with the most required functionality.

It automates job dependencies. You have to spend some time carefully defining daily jobs and job flow. It allows you to load different daily job flows for special activities (for example, a day of DR testing).

Using Control-M

5 - People who understand our business and Control M features. They know different lines of business and different phases (online/batch, start-of-day/end-of-day). They have knowledge in rules for creating entries and adjusting individual jobs (repeat, for example). They have deep knowledge in Control-M to monitor jobs, looks in history, plan changes.
