Overall Satisfaction with Cornerstone OnDemand

Cornerstone OnDemand is being used by our entire system of over 40,000 employees and contractors. It is both our learning management system and our learning experience platform. Being in healthcare, we need to make sure all of our employees are compliant, but in addition to compliance we are using Cornerstone OnDemand to ensure that our employees have the tools and resources they need to succeed in a constantly changing environment.

  • LXP allows for a great user interface that is visually pleasing and easy to use.
  • Reporting has been more flexible than any other LMS.
  • There is so much customization, it can be unwieldy for admins.
  • The test engine is confusing to use.
  • Reporting 2.0 can be difficult to get used to.
  • Increased employee engagement over the next 3 years.
  • Improved DE&I strategy over the next 5 years.
  • Reduced turnover in the next 3 years.
We currently only use Cornerstone OnDemand's Learning module. It is used primarily for compliance but we are shifting into a "pull" model where our employees search for training that they are interested in for their own personal and professional development. With the "Netflix-like" Learner Home, it is easy to suggest courses to our employees.
I think that there are so many configurations that you absolutely need an implementation partner to hold your hand through the process. Without this, you will be quite lost. We used Alight and they were fabulous and took care of most of our configuration based on workshops that they held with our administrator team.
Cornerstone OnDemand is lightyears ahead of HealthStream. HealthStream's system is archaic and does not have any features besides basic compliance training. HealthStream is not visually appealing and users simply choose to log in and complete only what has been assigned to them. Cornerstone's catalog is so much more user friendly and inviting.
Cornerstone OnDemand is best suited for large organizations with a lot of content that needs to be managed automatically. If you're a small company or you don't need to store much content, I would suggest a smaller LMS. This one is perfect for 10k+ organizations with a lot of compliance. It's not going to mimic an academic environment, but it will be a great experience for your employees.
