Overall Satisfaction with CrashPlan
We've deployed CrashPlan to our management team and C-level execs (about 15 users total), because we realized we had critical data that was local to the users laptop. As a group, they all use laptops, so traditional "scheduled backup" software wouldn't suffice. We needed something that provided continuous backup, was flexible, centrally managed and did not use the public cloud. The only software that fit the bill was CrashPlan.
- Centrally managed. Policy Based Control.
- Very Flexible. It backs up continually so you don't have to worry about missing a scheduled backup, then relying on the user to run a manual backup. Runs in the background with no to little user involvement.
- Option to run on your own hardware. Not having to rely on the public cloud was a key selling point.
- Neutral ROI at this point, but should we have to do a major restore, I'm confident it will be very positive.
- Acronis Backup & Recovery and Carbonite
Continuous backup, in house sever, centralized management
