Overall Satisfaction with CrashPlan

We have distributed employees including Home Office users and also part time freelancers. We are too small to allow break downs. Our philosophy is to make users self sufficient. CrashPlan helps us to achieve this for notebooks, mobile devices.
  • Self Service 100%
  • You can use restore anything anywhere in the world - go to the next Apple/PC store, get a new machine and simply sign on to your CrashPlan Account.
  • File History ! Just love it ! Once needed an older PowerPoint as I deleted some slides. A few clicks in the App and the version was restored on the desktop.
  • Backup initially can take a long time ... Incremental is good.
  • Look & Feel between Mac, WINDOWS, iOS, Android could be a bit more harmonized.
  • Get closer to the System Files, Profiles so users get as much restored as possible without the need for JAMF or else.
  • If you spend US 5.00 per user plus storage per month - compare it to the cost involved if the employee cannot work.
  • 1 hour to get the lost notebook of your CEO back up and running. Do the math.
Either you need much more Hardware (Druva) or the Software is old/outdated (AirWatch).
Almost no reason why not to use CrashPlan. Maybe if all users are only on a local LAN and you want to use a simply NAS storage and no remote users and no MAC users ... OK, then CrashPlan has too much to offer.
