Overall Satisfaction with Cube Planning
We use Cube for all aspects of FP&A, it is a great tool. I am a former Hyperion user and Cube is extremely similar. All of the employees are former FP&A professionals so truly understand the needs of Cube users they were extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. For growing companies or smaller companies Cube is a no brainer. It has a partnership with Intacct which is also a huge plus every company that uses Intacct should use Cube. It is essential for forecasting, budgeting and tracking company expenses. It allows plug and play in excel which is also critical for a FP&A tool.
- User Friendly, easy to move around dimensions
- Can easily add new account rollups, groupings etc.,
- Very easy to update data, change names
- Easy to pull multiple different dimensions in excel
- Can put notes behind uploaded budget numbers etc
- There is no drill down to see the lowest level accounts that a Hyperion etc., would have
- There is no QTD pull
- When a new account is created on the GL Cube users have to manually map it to a parent account
- Forecasting
- Budgeting
- Reporting
- Needed a FP&A tool, affordable, efficient & quickly
- Allows department holders to see their costs
- Allows business partners to see their margins etc.,
90% of what Hyperion offered Cube offers. Cube is missing the drill down feature which I believe is its biggest flaw. If you have revenue you cant double click on revenue and have it blow out all the revenue accounts at the lowest level. For companies that have hundreds accounts and roll ups this would be a major problem in my opinion. Hyperion was great for this you could double click and drill down to see all accounts very easily Cube you have to manually find all the accounts and insert them into excel Minus that they are very similar and Cube is much more user friendly.
