Overall Satisfaction with Dashlane Password Manager

We use this for our team at this point. It allows us to keep on top of multiple passwords and password changes in a secure way. Sharing them is quite easy based on the role groupings we utilize. Every piece of hardware has its own unique credentials, and no passwords are utilized more than once.

Pros

  • Creating new credentials
  • Changing credentials
  • Sharing credentials
  • Reporting
  • Security

Cons

  • Autofill works pretty well, but occasionally gets confused. This is likely the webpage not a Dashlane Password Manager issue
  • Extension has required a reinstall from time to time
  • The Password Health tool is helpful
  • The free VPN option has been fantastic for mobile devices on the move
I have used several password managers in the past for work - including LastPass, 1Password and Bitwarden. Dashlane Password Manager has exceeded these at a team level.
While LastPass and Bitwarden both work, Dashlane Password Manager has been superior for our needs. LastPass stagnated when Acquired by LogMeIn. While it was spun out into its own in 2024. Time will tell what happens. Bitwarden is open source and has the option for self-hosting the server. While this is great in concept, who has the time, security and coding chops to make full use of this method?

Do you think Dashlane Password Manager delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dashlane Password Manager's feature set?

Yes

Did Dashlane Password Manager live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Dashlane Password Manager go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dashlane Password Manager again?

Yes

This works amazingly well for small teams. I have no idea how well this translates at scale. There are 'groups' that can be applied to help with the sharing. However individuals can be shared with as well. While this provides some granularity, it adds complexity. I wonder if some added features would be needed at scale to allow for easy management of the solution.
