Overall Satisfaction with Dashlane Password Manager
We have used Dashlane for at least 5 years. It allows us to share passwords quickly, safely, and efficiently between team members and quickly remove access when we experience any employee turnover. We all especially appreciate the fact that you can have a personal account within the corporate license, so when an employee leaves, that employee can still retain their own personal database of passwords.
Pros
- Sharing account logins without disclosing the password, itself.
- Integrating with all browsers and desktops
- Storing payment options for quick access to credit card and checking account numbers
- Storing and securing private notes
- Creating group access to a unique set of passwords for specific teams and team members
Cons
- Sometimes it gets irritating when Dashlane tries to autofill form fields that aren't meant to be filled in by a password vault. Think in terms of building a page in WordPress or filling out some other web form. Dashlane will constantly attempt to fill out those fields, and the mechanism Dashlane provides for stopping this from happening is inadequate.
- The location of the Dashlane icon in some fields can conflict with access to passwords memorized in the browser (like Chrome). That makes it difficult to choose one or the other. The workaround is to turn off any browser memorization and delete any stored logins within the browser or operating system.
- It allows us to onboard a new employee in minutes with access to what they need.
- It allows us to mitigate the purchase of unnecessary SaaS seats.
- It lets us know when a password or access has been compromised, so we can quickly change the password.
- It also provides a free VPN, which is great for traveling.
