DataGrip is perfect for developers
Overall Satisfaction with DataGrip
I use DataGrip daily for simple queries and complex reporting. I use it map out new tables/columns and to create new indexes.
Pros
- Browse tables and the data
- Export data
- Create, modify tables
Cons
- An easier way to have a pool saved queries that can opened quickly
- Less time to develop database structures
- Easy to filter and find data
- Export data for reporting purposes
I think it blows away MySQL Workbench hands down. Workbench does have more functionality when it comes managing the MySQL instance, viewing performance etc. Navicat is ok, it might be better for new database develoopers. I stumbled upon DataGrip cause it came with jetbrains development tools subscription. I tried it out and it has been my go to for several years. now.
