Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's used at the department level, but queries can be run by the whole organization.

Sturdy and fault tolerant
Fast
High parametrization

Client tools need to be improved.
Documentation needs to be improved

Best performance with high durability.

Sometimes scalability is searched when not needed.

Performance

There are some issues with intra-parallelism, as there also are with Oracle and SQL Server.

Reliability and Availability

This is the strongest database engine out there; I never saw it fail a recovery. It does have some bugs however.

Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB

Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server

Likelihood to Recommend

When using on a high OLTP database server with half a second response time and in a data warehouse environment, it never depends on database engine but on the DBAs.
