Overall Satisfaction with DB2

Certainly from the whole organization: the product is used by all the ICT departments, by the departments that develop the applications and by the departments that manage the systems. Business departments use data to create dashboards or reports using Cognos automatically. The fact that it is multiplatform allows us to decide from time to time at what level the database must reside.

As an architecture, you can extend its use through features such as data sharing. Data sharing can essentially share data between DB2 members to allow queries from every system that is part of the enterprise. It is, in fact, a standard among relational DBs because the price/performance ratio is very positive for us.
The performances are exceptional if you take care to maintain the database. It is a very powerful tool and at the same time very easy to use. In our installation, we expect a DB machine on the mainframe with access to the database through ODBC connectors directly from branch servers, with fabulous end users experience.
To maximize availability, just provide backup data sharing files with each other. The DB2 self-protects itself from interruptions and there are many error messages to intercept to avoid the crash. OOTB, the guarantee of reliability is very high. Undoubtedly, the true enterprise solution that guarantees the business. No doubt at all.

In the phase of software selection, to which I have unfortunately not participated, other alternatives existed. In fact, it is the only easy-to-use multi-platform enterprise level that ensures CKE the skill created is an investment for the company. In comparison with the other tools, it has won the choice of reliability and investment on a product that will last over time.
DB2 is suitable for any use. The main one is certainly the creation of an online database that can be queried online through TP queries and through batch reports. It is necessary to take care of the database maintenance to allow maximum performance, for this, there are the utilities that help the system operators to do it.
