Insights on IBM DB2.
Overall Satisfaction with Db2
So, I work for an investment bank, which has been our client for the last couple of years in the support role, and we use db2 extensively in our work. Some of the major highlights that I noticed with this tool are its reliability, ease of use, and the security it provides. We query a large set of data from the past several years for the business to make the decisions for the applications, and mostly, it just takes a minute or so to give us the data we require. This is very much suitable when used for a large set of data.
Pros
- While we query a large set of data, the results are generally available within a minute or so.
- Always reliable - I have never experienced an application going down.
- It is easy to write queries and find tables and columns.
- We can log in smoothly without any headaches.
Cons
- Frontend can be much more engaging.
- Takes time to understand the application.
- Time efficiency is the major point to highlight, especially the minimal time this takes while querying a larger set of data.
- Reliability becomes another major factor as the application can be accessed at any point in time.
- Users might initially find it challenging to use the application.
Two significant factors that make this application valuable are its reliability and efficiency. As the application is always up and can be accessed at any point in time, it is reliable, and its ability to query years of data within minutes saves a lot of time and helps us increase efficiency.
I am not sure, as I have not used the previous versions and have not explored all the dimensions of the application.
