Overall Satisfaction with Db2

We use Db2 for all of our health insurance organization's storage needs. We use it on a daily basis and are currently considering incorporating Watsonx.data with Db2 for a more robust, open source solution for increasing our big data queries while saving on operational costs.

Pros

  • Efficient querying of big data
  • Authorization based security measures
  • Works well for organizing complex data relationships

Cons

  • More expensive storage solution than watsonx.data for example
  • Dated querying language
  • less compatible with other storage solutions and programming languages
I value the querying and storage capabilities of Db2 the most

I would recommend Db2 overall, especially to an organization that is already based around an IBM Mainframe. However, I would be more interested in a more modern solution, like watsonx.data for it's modern flexibility and greater efficiency.
