In our organization, we use Db2 to Store investment analytics data such income statement

Pros

  • Making it easy to create tabular data
  • Write SQL schema and functions
  • Easy to use and fast

Cons

  • Use of Gen AI to support with SQL programming
  • More interactive data schema creation
  • More friendly SQL based programming
  • Database migration was difficult
  • Encryption was wonderful.
I think the most valuable capabilities in Db2 are the Enterprise grade support and features.

If asked by a colleague, I would say that I think Db2 is a great database that has remained under appreciated for what it does compared to competitors like MS SQL or Oracle.
