Overall Satisfaction with DbVisualizer

We use DbVisualizer on a daily basis for our customers. Since our customers use various DB platforms, DbVis is a saviour since its multiple database support with a single UI and interaction approach is a super time saver.

Without this approach, we would be wasting so much time doing 'context-switching' between client tools.

Pros

  • Multi-DB support
  • Auto completion
  • Quick 'summation' and analysis of resuts
  • Rapid search of grid to find what we're looking for

Cons

  • Sometimes large results can bring DbVis to a very slow page
  • Increase the load speed when there are lots of tabs from previous session open
  • Not much else
  • Positive: Real time saver when working across multiple databases. At least 30-40 mins a day are saved
  • Positive: Helpful for the 'quick DBA' tasks without switching to the native tools: approx 1-2 hours saved weekly
  • Positive: Easy switch between environments / schemas / etc without hassle: saved at least an hour daily
Simple and consistent UI across DBs. Without this, it is a real pain to switch between client tools. An additional benefit is the MAC support, which we are heavy users of.

Do you think DbVisualizer delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with DbVisualizer's feature set?

Yes

Did DbVisualizer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of DbVisualizer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy DbVisualizer again?

Yes

In today's modern data-enterprise, there are very few tools out there that have the refined approach the DbVis has provided over the years. It is especially useful in the DB Admin arena where db-specific 'DBA Views' are presented (E.g. exasol, postgres, etc). It is also handy for quick DB admin tasks.
