Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

I am an educator at a college in Southern Nevada. I teach AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS. I like to introduce Draftsight to the students entering the job market. I also recommend Draftsight when visiting companies that are using an older version of AutoCAD.

  • Same commands.
  • 3D capabilities.
  • Paramedics editing.
  • Dynamic Blocks.
  • External References.
  • More Architecture tools in the toolbox.
  • Overall cost.
  • Training Curve is minimal.
  • Online support for Training.
  • SWUGN Users groups available worldwide.
Although I am a user of DraftSight, I survey industries to see what they are using. Since DraftSight does not have a strong presence, I am forced to teach AutoCAD as a standard. However, I do recommend DraftSight as a great alternative to AutoCAD.
Affordability: the cost of Draftsight is more affordable than using AutoCAD or any other DWG editor.
Compatibility: Draftsight is compatible with most CAD formats.
