Easy-to-use product with many capabilities
Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight
DraftSight is used as a means of design across our entire company with multiple users. It is our two-dimensional drafting standard alongside SOLIDWORKS as our three-dimensional standard. Our company uses DraftSight to design parts and assemblies as well as to open DWG files rendered in SOLIDWORKS for review.
Pros
- Layering options
- Well-organized features
- Simplistic user design
Cons
- Make customization of layout easier
- Many conversion issues between SOLIDWORKS' DWG-produced drawings and what loads in DraftSight
- Make a more streamlined layering ability
- Smart dimensions
- Allows us to design quickly
- Great for review of drawings
DraftSight is a less expensive option than AutoCAD but does not have the same intuitive features, such as smart dimensioning. SOLIDWORKS allows for easier 2D drafting of assemblies but is not as intuitive.
