Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

I am using DraftSight for architectural production drawings for both Residential and Commercial projects. Right now this is a one-person firm but I am looking to expand with additional DraftSight licenses in the near future. DraftSight meets my needs for producing construction documents at a low price point.

  • Somewhat buggy, occasional program crashes

  • Lack of large user base means its somewhat hard to find answers on the community fourms when needed (at least compared to AutoDesk product)
  • Great return on investment
  • I can typically make up the cost of this product with one architectural drafting/design job
I only briefly explored NanoCAD and it seemed very similar to DraftSight in capability and features from what I could tell.
It has all the features and customizability needed to produce quality architectural design and construction documents if you are okay working in a 2D environment. I don't typically need 3D capability and haven't used DraftSight in that way.
