Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox for Business
Dropbox is used for file sharing and backup within our organization, across all departments, including remote staff. It allows us to securely share files and collaborate (sort of- more on that later). It also allows us to back up our work to a secure environment to protect against data loss due to malfunctions on individual computers.
- Makes it easy to back up files from your machine
- Attractive web UI
- The desktop app has some really terrible edge cases that can result in lost data
- Collaboration isn't really possible, as you have to all save different versions- not at all an alternative to, say, Google Docs
- Allows us to further collaborate; as a 50% distributed company, we need the ability to share files over distance
Google Drive is just better. The only thing Dropbox has over it is the desktop app, and I'd argue that it doesn't outweigh the benefits you get from being able to collaborate on Drive.
