Overall Satisfaction with e-automate
We use e-automate to dispatch employees, create contracts, receive payments, enter invoices, pay invoices, create purchase orders, receive stock, ship stock, and monitor profitability per contract.
Pros
- Creating contracts.
- Service calls.
- Equipment inventory.
Cons
- Can't see how much is in my cash accounts (checking) like QuickBooks.
- Assets and depreciation adjustments per tax return.
- Owners basis per tax return.
- The e-automate will stop working if we stop paying each year. We chose not to go to the cloud and buy the software. QuickBooks and other software are a one-time fee.
- E-automate has very few outside vendors for add-on modules.
- The vendors that do have modules are costly.
The profitability reports are great if you enter data from vendor invoices for the first time. If you forget to enter the data, you have a long process to correct it (void the invoice, recreate the invoice, apply payment, etc.). E-automate needs more access to edit invoice details. Changing a cost account requires voiding and recreating.
Our inventory system is way out of control with allocations, shipments, etc., so we are constantly guessing if we have it. There is no easy fix. This impacts all aspects of the rest of the workflows by constantly having to override receiving and shipping to clear POs and invoices. There is very little master control over fixing things. ECI needs to provide more functionality versus demanding we pay them to adjust our database.
E-Automate is the industry standard for contract management, but it lacks the ease of editing transactions and the drill-down features of QuickBooks.
