Overall Satisfaction with EMS Software

EMS is used to manage bookings from various room owners for different rooms such as classrooms, boardrooms, computer labs, and multipurpose rooms. Student group leaders use Virtual EMS to request bookings. EMS Web Client is utilized for users that are using Macs or a wireless connection.
  • Transparency for all bookings
  • Easy to view details of all rooms
  • Minimizes double bookings
  • Pushing events to a public calendar events
  • EMS web client is slow and clunky
  • Reduced workload from using an Excel spreadsheet
  • User count is expensive per year in addition to yearly ASA
EMS Software has the integration capability with Infosilem and Crestron
The product is robust with platform services and the many API calls resulting in many different integrations such as teleconference, check-in, Google calendar, room signage, kiosks, and many more.
It has many configuration points and is daunting the first time around. It has a good amount of options and you'll understand why once you're more familiarized with the product which will then allow comprehensive integrations.
EMS is perfect for a higher education institution for 1 database to book all events and classes while preserving room ownership for the various departments

Evaluating EMS Software and Competitors

Yes - uReserve was the system that was replaced. uReserve was functional to the department back 10 years ago. Over time, business processes have changed along with ownership and room expansions. We also wanted to find an event publication system and Master Calendar offered that option as a module.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Features such as customizable statuses, defined fields, event types, and colors were appealing. Event publication was a major factor in purchasing EMS.
