Episerver Content Cloud

Overall Satisfaction with Episerver Content Cloud

We are using Episerver for all of our sites on the Polaris Platform. It's used by the front end and ecommerce solutions/teams. It addresses how to manage multiple sites with content and distribute that content at a rapidly changing pace. We utilize over 30 brands and each site has it's own flavor/flair that Episerver helps support. We are also looking at capitalizing Insight Profiles with time to improve our purchase utilization.
  • Content Management
  • Development Documentation
  • Multi-environment Testing/development
  • Default settings get reset/not easily managed
  • Support when there are defects is slow
  • Easier way to search through large chunks of content
  • Multi-site support has increased flexibility in product sales
  • Site performance
  • Easy business visibility and flexibility with changes
I was not a part of the decision to use Episerver as it was already implemented when I began at my position at Polaris. My understanding was that the team used Genesis before hand and it lacked in performance and content flexibility. Switching to Episerver has rapidly increased the potential and success that Polaris has achieved.
Episerver is best used, in my opinion for a small collection of sites. We utilize Episerver for a very LARGE number of sites and tend to encounter issues with some of the tools and extensions of other providers. Another piece is that at a large site number collection, there is a significant impact on database performance.
