Overall Satisfaction with Matillion

We are a company that uses machine learning to produce healthcare analytic applications. We gather data from a multitude of sources with many different formats to reside in our data lake. We also select data from some of these sources to reside in common schemas within the data lake for ingestion in our machine learning models.
  • It is provisioned and billed through our AWS console. No deployment issues to consider.
  • Pre-built compatibility with many of our sources such as Excel, CSV, Social Media.
  • Seamless integration directly with Redshift avoids configuration woes.
  • The pricing is exactly what a startup can accomodate.
  • Experienced ETL developers are productive within hours.
  • Each release of Matillion has addressed some of the initial issues we encountered using the product 2 years ago we are very happy with the current release and have no significant issues.
It was the first and only ETL tool built for Redshift that was very easily provisioned and managed. Other ETL tools that we used in the past had configuration and integration challenges. The frequency and quality of the releases supplied Matillion allowed the product to mature rapidly and made our lives much easier and productive.
I can only comment on using it to integrate data from many and varied sources which it does extremely well. I have yet to encounter a data source that Matillion could not handle. Addin data to our data lake is a very simple task and the transformations needed to update the data in our common schemas are much easier to perform and rarely require any additional code to execute properly.
