Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP

We use several F5 BIG-IP platforms for our load balancing and security

Pros

  • Load Balancing
  • WAF
  • APM cert checking

Cons

  • Logging changes made on the F5
  • Logs for denials
  • Better alerting if there are issues on the F5
  • Great support
  • Occasionally have a lot of bugs that no one was tracking
  • TAC always requesting a QKView when it hasn't really helped
Overall it is great and has a lot of amazing features. Just the bugs or random issues that takes a while to troubleshoot prevent it from being a 10.
I prefer F5 BIG-IP over Netscalers. Newspapers don't have the customizations or available options that F5 provides.

They are great products that are able to handle user sessions, WAF, and just overall ease of access to do so much on one machine
