Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP

Today, we are using it for ramping into the cloud through Equinix. We are also using it locally in our Data Center for our on prem applications and external applications along with.

Pros

  • Application awareness and Certificate front loading
  • It's really good at explaining what things are doing on the help tab and its so versitile
  • We use the LTM and GTM and GTM is extremely easy to use and works great for global load balancing across our vast enterprise

Cons

  • My first would have been that we need to migrate to NEXT but now we are able to just upgrade to NEXT
  • No other complaints from my perspective
  • The ROI is amazing. I don't have numbers but the value we get out of using these products is high. We have hundreds of apps running on these appliances and for the security and functionality it definitely pays for itself. We are only looking to expand and use more of the product sets
Overall it is extremely easy to use. Everything is laid out in a way that is easy to understand. The API is helpful in creating automation and the documentation is very thorough.
