Overall Satisfaction with FortiClient
We currently use FortiClient to deliver antivirus, antimalware, and vulnerability detection for all our endpoints across five educational establishments. We also utilize Forticlient's VPN client for remote workers and students who don't/can't attend one of our sites. We centrally manage our endpoints from our Forticlient EMS server and deploy each type of user with an appropriate configuration profile.
Pros
- Antivirus protection.
- Malware protection.
- Low system resource usage.
Cons
- More accuracy with detections (we have had quite a few false positives).
- Better integration with Windows updates.
- Better integration with Windows Defender.
- Increase in security confidence.
- Increase in organisation Compliance.
- Increase in endpoint activity visibility.
- McAfee Total Protection (discontinued)
Simply put, the deployment with Forticlient is a lot simpler and generally takes less time, consumes fewer system resources, and is easier to manage centrally. The VPN client included with the endpoint protection gives us a lot of confidence that our end users are protected whilst away from the office and before they connect to our VPN tunnels. These are aspects that we found to be lacking in this alternative product.
