Overall Satisfaction with Frame.io

Internal and external video draft review for instructors and other colleagues. Having the ability to time-stamp comments and share videos in a secure way is huge.

Pros

  • Time stamped comments.
  • Exporting to Premiere with comments.
  • Sharing videos with both internal and external clients without the need for credentials.

Cons

  • When I mark a video private, it should disable the sharing link. We’ve run into issues where we’ve made a video private, thinking that it was no longer visible, but those with the link could still view it.
  • Mobile version is great, but sometimes I have to rotate my phone to get the full feature set, which is a little clunky sometimes.
  • The positive impact is that it spreads things along for us during the review process. Teaching constituents with low technical ability to use. The platform was very easy. But we did have one instance where a user unchecked the timestamp box by accident, and none of the comments were time-stamped, which was a huge problem.
  • The only negative impact was accidentally adding collaborators to the account, which cost us money. We didn’t need to spend. Especially when they were already in a seat for the account, too.
Being able to nest things and folders, lock them down, and share them easily is really awesome. I deducted some points because it’s too easy to add users and incur cost by accident, but it’s also tricky to log in sometimes, especially if I ask her to leave me logged in. I always have to click through a couple of times on the menus to get to where I need to be able to log in.
