We use GitHub for code management, collaboration, project management, and automation.

Pros

  • Github actions for CI/CD.
  • Branch protection.

Cons

  • Complex permission management for large organizations.
  • Limited advanced search.
  • Github actions limitations for complex workflows.
  • Accelerated development and delivery.
  • Improved code quality.
  • Enhanced team collaboration.
Github's usability is perfect for code-centric IT workflows, particularly for collaborative development, CI/CD automation, and version control.
GitLab has strong code review and project management capabilities, but it has a smaller community. Better for cross-functional collaboration but less intuitive for nontechnical users.
