Using GiveSmart was a smart move for us!

Overall Satisfaction with GiveSmart

I used the GiveSmart platform to run/support two fundraising events for a small independent school - one a straight-up ask event with a prerecorded video, and the other a gala, live over Zoom, a real party with a raffle and an auction on the GS site. I am the only GS user at my org.

Pros

  • The live help via chat is SUPERB!
  • The graphics are clean and clear.
  • The canned reports are excellent.

Cons

  • Transferring users from one even to another is cumbersome. I'd like to have our community automatically become a user in any event we host.
  • The bulk upload of raffle items was problematic.
  • The random number generator to pick raffle winners could be brought in-house and simplified.
  • Adding a pre-recorded video to start playing live at a certain time literally took weeks to organize.
  • We used GS for the first time during COVID and so it is difficult to compare to our in person events.
GS does not yet do all the things I'd like it to do, but they are responsive and always growing and progressing so overall I'm thrilled with how they use feedback to institute ideas.
User support is simply astoundingly good.
GS is perfect as a fundraising platform for an online campaign.

For online live events events, you still need Zoom or Teams to host the event. GS could become a one-stop shop for this...
