Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets
Working in a global company makes Google Sheets very valuable, especially for collaboration across regions and time zones. Multiple people can work at the same time, see changes instantly, and avoid the many file versions. Sharing information is very simple by tagging people, leaving comments, and keeping threads on specific topics. The recent Gemini releases improved auto-suggestions, formulas, and insights. Gemini embedded in Sheets can be very powerful if you know what you’re doing.
Pros
- Gemini: Auto-suggestions, formulas, and insights have improved a lot with Gemini. When used correctly, Gemini embedded in Sheets can be very powerful and save time on analysis and setup.
- Sharing: Sharing information is simple. You can tag people, leave comments, and keep discussion threads on specific topics directly in the sheet, which speeds up alignment and decisions.
- Global collaboration: Google Sheets works very well for global teams. Multiple people can work at the same time, see changes instantly, and avoid confusion with many file versions.
Cons
- Gemini: still very tricky if you dont know what you are doing. Regular people strugle with using it, as when you ask the gemini inside, it does not do what you ask, like insert a formula in a cetail cell, it gives you a formula even though you explained what need to be done
- Some people still prefer Excel given the graphs and report capabilities, and the variety of charts.
- Time Saving given many time zones
- The mobile app option is something incredible that helps a lot and speed the process of review some information. Can be done while in transit.
- Analysis of the spreadsheet or summary given by Gemini
