Overall Satisfaction with HCL BigFix (formerly from IBM)
BigFix is being used across the organization for software deployment and patching purposes as well as asset management information for our end user devices and enterprise infrastructure assets. It centralizes our patching deployment processes as well as our software inventory collection. In addition, we ensure that our asset information is all consolidated into BigFix which we then draw a report out of and use to enhance our CMDB.

The functionality seemed greater and the pricing was more advantageous for the firm at the time of purchase. The decision was made due to our business relationship with IBM, the demonstrations provided by several former users of BigFix and the expansive feature set that can be utilized. One thing to note is that each separate set of functionality requires separate licenses, so the cost of implementation can be steep.
