Overall Satisfaction with Planful (formerly Host Analytics)

We use it for our budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting process. I allows us to grant access to reporting and budget detail to managers and executives across the company. It also allows us to perform ad-hoc forecasts and financial models in an efficient way. The cloud scheduler allows me to send out recurring reports in an automated fashion.

Pros

  • Excel-like features make picking up the application rather easy.
  • Report design utilizing substitution variables makes recurring reports able to be automated.
  • Hierarchy management makes understanding the structure of our complex company much easier.

Cons

  • Compatibility with default browser settings is an issue.
  • Would like more formatting options for reports that delivered via cloud scheduler.
  • Chrome compatibility would be great!
  • Increased manager engagement in the budget process
  • Better efficiency at delivering ad-hoc analysis
  • Flexibility to changes in planning or organization
Host Analytics stacks up as equal or greater than any cloud EPM solution on the market.
I think it could work for most any industry, which is apparent in the diversity of the companies they serve.

    Hello Derek, Thank you for taking the time to review Host Analytics. It was a joy to read your comments; especially when you say “Host Analytics stacks up as equal or greater than any cloud EPM solution on the market”. It was also nice to see your feedback on our Hierarchy management feature and how it makes complex structures easy to understand. We have invested considerably to enable all Host Analytics modules on Google Chrome, as well as other browsers like Firefox. As a Chrome user, budget owner and user of Host Analytics myself, I was able to complete our annual budget process entirely in Chrome and regularly access our own instance of Host Analytics via Chrome for my regular reporting and forecasting needs.
