Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers

IBM Bare Metal Servers allow us to deploy any corporate solution that our customers needs, from legacy to new projects. We mixed them with VM´s in the same cloud, this allows us to migrate customer´s solutions to the cloud and use them as an IaaS entry point which can then be complemented with IBM PaaS solutions that the project will need in the short future.

Pros

  • BM Servers can be mixed with VM in the same VLAN.
  • It is a pure private cloud.
  • IBM Bare Metal Servers include enough bandwidth for corporate solutions.

Cons

  • Set-up time could be improved.
  • Better notifications on hardware issues like raid troubles.
  • Better cost.
  • Very positive ROI so far!
IBM Bare Metal Servers are well suited if a customer needs a purely private solution, or if you need to manage your own Hypervisor. If the number of VM´s required is too high, you can manage better costs using BM to virtualize you own solution.
