Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud File Storage

We use IBM Cloud File Storage as a primary storage option in conjunction with Kubernetes in a cloud environment.
  • We use it in conjunction with our API and audit service to provide snapshots of data and API records.
  • It scales up and down automatically.
  • Great price, pay only when you use it.
  • Provides data encryption at rest, which is important for HIPAA.
  • For certain functions, you will want different storage, whether it is elastic, NoSQL, or highly structured.
  • For certain services in a microservice environment, you might want a customized data storage structure.
  • It's high performing, cheap, flexible, and scalable. That's all you should care about.
We use their cloud platform so you have to use tools that are complementary to your stack. You can roll your own tooling but it is just more costly and unnecessary if you don't need highly specific functionality.
