Overall Satisfaction with IBM Planning Analytics

Currently, IBM Planning Analytics is still in its infancy stages within the organization. It is not heavily used due to a lack of knowledge and training. Planning Analytics is used for basic reporting right now. Training is the biggest problem we are addressing right now. Skillsets that have the analytic mindset need to be hired to support Analytics more efficiently.

Our organization has been able to utilize scenario planning to start looking at different paths or directions that we can take and what the projected outcomes would be based on the data collected and organized into the scenarios. It has also [been] beneficial [in] determining campaigns and marketing strategies. This has been a great tool so far.
IBM Planning Analytics was by far the most robust tool we evaluated among several top competitors. It stood out for its place in the industry to provide detailed, integrated, and aggregate integration for data governance. I was impressed with the approach from the sales team to listen to my requirements and demo how analytics could improve what I was doing and how it would fulfill my requirements.

Support has been easy to work with, knowledgeable about the product, and always timely in assisting to resolve issues. Whenever I have called in, emailed, or submitted a request online, the Customer Support Team responded fairly quickly and was typically able to resolve my request within a day. If not they would communicate with me each step of the support process.
IBM Planning Analytics's usability for the most part was pretty straightforward, but there were a few areas where it wasn't the easiest tool to navigate. Connecting to backend data sources proved to be a little difficult but with some support from Customer Service, I was able to get past that. The data sets and aligning them with the tool wasn't a clean process either. Overall I gave it a nine because it was fairly easy to use.
This is a great tool, but the user interface could be easier to navigate. I've been using the tool in our test environment to pull data from our backend data tables and this process has been proven to be a pretty easy process. Still building some dashboards to develop a decision-based process based on the data presented.
