Overall Satisfaction with IBM Planning Analytics

I use IBM Planning Analytics for budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis majorly. It has helped us automate data gathering and replace time consuming manual taks. IBM Planning Analytics has transformed our FP&A function from a reactive to a proactive process overall. It has streamlined data collection and aggregation in the process.

Pros

  • It is like super fast accountant. It has crunched numbers from different teams in very less time, giving a clear financial picture.
  • What if scenarios are made very easy
  • It lets us play around with the numbers and see the impact on the bottom line.
  • Predicting the future used to be a tedious task but with IBM Planning Analytics, it's more like well informed prediction now.

Cons

  • It took quite a while to master all its features
  • Getting data into IBM Planning Analytics can sometimes feel like herding cats
