Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power System Virtual Server

I believe we use IBM Power System Virtual Server across our entire organization. It provides our company with a very secure and scalable server and on-demand provisioning. Being that I am in sales, I don't deal with the actual purchase or maintenance of our server, but I can tell customers that our server is secure and one of the best Servers on the Market.
  • It is Affordable in comparison to the other options (Asked our team)
  • It is Scalable
  • The Up-time is above 99%
  • It didn't support Windows OS
  • Difficult for our Admins to receive community feedback & support.

Do you think IBM Power Virtual Server delivers good value for the price?

Did IBM Power Virtual Server live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Power Virtual Server go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy IBM Power Virtual Server again?

Yes

  • Quick upstart, which made it easy to see results quickly.
  • Not a lot of issues, which meant we didn't have to devote any of the team's time to fixing problems.
I wasn't part of the selections process.
To my understanding, the uptime has been close to perfect which meant our business didn't or hasn't had any interruptions. The availability of data has improved significantly and with that data, we have been able to make positive business decisions that have affected multiple teams and company goals.
We haven't had to deal with any errors and have had many positive business outcomes from using IBM Power System Virtual Server.
To begin, I was told that it was very easy to get up and running and the up-time on the service was very close to 100% (over 99%). We were a smaller company (about 1,000 employees) and it was very scalable. It is however, hard for our admins to gain feedback from our community of users and that feedback needed to happen in another solution.
