IBM watsonx.data is an AI and data platform for business with which enterprises can easily curate, test, deploy and embed in Artificial intelligence and Data science in our business, manage all the data sources and accelerate responsible AI workflow which are tightly coupled, all on one platform. This impact of AI we can trust the data across your business.

Pros

  • It's Open source technology, provides variety of use cases and compliance requirements.
  • Its trusted platform designed with principles of transparency, responsibility and governance
  • watsonx is designed for targeted enterprise at business domains.

Cons

  • IBM is bit pricy while comparing to other competitors in the market.
  • customisation of models is difficult at times for use cases.
  • It lags in performance at times, while the parent server needs a restart.
  • Repulsive data used to train and fine tune the model can adversely affect model behaviour.
  • Kubernetes Elasticsearch governing pods may crash after upgrade.
  • some watsonx pods go to the unknown state
Oracle really cost effective solution, where it has the support of community, with rich integration of all wide range of oracle products.
Amazon SageMaker is another cost effective solution, where is tightly coupled with AWS platform, in terms of performance it copes up really well for the large data sets. So that we can train AI data sets models well.

IBM watsonx.data platform is best suited for scale AI workloads from single unit data store, which is only data store that is open hybrid and governed. So the customer trust and safety is never comprised. But this platform lags performance for large scale data sets and we need to restart the main server.
