Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro

We utilize Jamf Pro to manage our small fleet of iPads over 4 schools. We are a smaller district with about 3000 iPads. We are in education, Jamf [Pro] helps us with apps, security, finding lost iPads, web clips, and even a whitelist for our younger students to modify their access to the internet.
  • Manages Apps - gives details so that knowing what is available is easy, as well as what has fallen out of the app store.
  • Managing iPads - naming them, adding users, as well as what teachers have which iPads.
  • Sending web clips - allowing shortcuts to be added by management at [the] request of teachers so that students quickly have access to websites.
  • Finding Lost iPads - this feature is invaluable to us as we have students who travel with their iPads and are often forgetful and leave their iPads in their previous rooms or even at school over the weekend. The detail given is extremely helpful in recovering iPads.
  • Reports - this has improved some but sometimes my boss asks for huge reports that only need certain details but it can be difficult to pull that information out of Jamf [Pro].
  • Being able to resend configuration profiles to just the iPads that canceled, or are sitting at pending.
  • Sometimes fixing the PI's comes way too slowly. I work for a small district, I can't imagine being a big district and having to deal with limitations set by a product issue.
  • The ability to push apps - I send and pull back apps on a daily basis almost, a lot of this is automatic with smart groups and the way we have set up our smart groups. This is extremely helpful.
  • Configuration Profiles - once you understand how these work and how to make them work to your benefit they are invaluable. We have restrictions, allowing certain things to open, web clips, whitelists. I honestly think this is one of the more important features of Jamf [Pro].
  • Users - I know this probably sounds silly but so much of what I do hinges around iPads and users. This one action allows several things to work inside of our environment. Apple classroom, tracking of iPads, and more.
  • Jamf [Pro] has made locating iPads during the Pandemic so much easier. With the information provided by Lost Mode, we are able to show the end-user where their iPad was last located. This also allows us to have the iPads returned, even from the opposite coast of the US. This is invaluable and eases the loss of equipment during an already difficult and stressful time.
  • Jamf [Pro] has allowed one or two people to manage 3000 iPads at four different schools. I know the impact it has had on our little district and I often say that the end-user only sees the magic that happens. It makes it easier for me to make that magic work.
  • Jamf [Pro] has allowed me to be much more efficient, saving time, which we all know time is money.
  • Lightspeed Filter (formerly Relay)
The correct MDM that I used from Lightspeed isn't [on] that list so I chose the next best thing. Jamf [Pro] has allowed us much more control. Lightspeed is geared towards business and not really education. Jamf Pro is more flexible and when we got Jamf [Pro] that was what was available. They now have even more options geared more towards education. Worth checking out. I understand how to use Jamf Pro so that is what we are staying with.

Do you think Jamf Pro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Jamf Pro's feature set?

Yes

Did Jamf Pro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Jamf Pro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Jamf Pro again?

Yes

Recently we started importing computers into our Jamf [Pro] instance. I generally work with iPads only and it is a breeze with Jamf [Pro]. However, the computer portion is much more complex (rightfully so, you can do so much more). I do see that Jamf [Pro] is making progress with a few feature requests and implementing them for that side. I can't think of any scenarios where Jamf [Pro] has not been appropriate for what I do. It has mostly made my job easier, promoted learning in me and my workers, and allowed us to be super-efficient in the managing of our iPads.
