Overall Satisfaction with Juniper EX Series Ethernet Switches
Juniper is used as our primary routing, switching and firewall equipment. We use it to secure our edge and transport networks, and provide VPN and fiber connectivity between multiple sites. The problems it solves is providing connectivity between our various locations at a high capacity. We have multiple links and utilize various routing protocols to fit our needs.
- Routing.
- Switching.
- Firewall.
- Virtual chassis new switch has overwritten existing config if not performed in a particular way.
- Applying a configuration to a range of interfaces could be done in a better way.
- Applying firewall rules to multiple security zones could be done a little more efficiently.
- Juniper switches are much cheaper than Cisco but provide the same level of Enterprise class switches. We've been able to purchase more for less.
- The switches last a long time and we have had minimal hardware issues in the 2 years I've been working with them.
- Uptime for the network has been great.
In terms of performance and quality, Juniper EX switches are at the top of the line. I've been impressed with their uptime, features and quality. I find their CLI to be more difficult than Cisco or HPE Aruba, however like anything, one picks it up with time. Our network is in good hands with Juniper products.
