Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus

We have the Phish Alert Button as part of our subscription. My team was overwhelmed by the alerts sent by users. PhishER, uses automation to cut down on the amount of alerts we need to handle, leaving us with only the high priority or outliers. The ROI is rapid and your security team will be able to focus on higher value tasks. It is worth the time to work with a KnowBe4 engineer to fine tune the policies for your environment. Looking forward to seeing how KnowBe4 can integrate AI into this product for even more automation.

Saves time for your security team and reduces burnout. Reviewing these emails is not high value and is something your team hates doing and will put off. PhishER cuts down on the noise and lets your team deal with the actual threats.
We have implementated PhishML, Blocklist, and PhishRIP.
I see the blocklist in action daily. PhishRIP is one of the best selling points of this product. The ability to eliminate threats before users have a chance to interact with them is huge. Like much machine learning, it's honestly hard to quantify the value of PhishML.
The dashboard is good. However, it can be somewhat tricky to find what you need from time to time.
KB4 has a more complete solution and it simpler to initiate and manage.

Saves your cyber team time. Eliminates something that your team doesn't like doing and will put off. If you have the PAB for users to report phishing, then you need PhishER.

Configuring KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus

For what PhishER does, it's just about right as far as configuration complexity.
We're a small team with limited time, so we tend to set agressive levels in tools so we do not have as much manual remediation. Rely on your account management team for advice when implementing to your standards. Keep in mind that as smart as the algorythm is, someone will still need to manually resolve a small percentage of messages.

We worked with the implementation team from KB4 to configure PhishER for our needs.

Using KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus

2 - Some experience with reading and interpreting email headers, URLs, and attachments
  • Intercept suspected phishing before it reaches user's mailbox
  • Remove phishing from mailboxes if a duplicate message was confirmed as phishing (PhishRIP)
  • A way for emails reported by users via the PAB button to be evaluated
  • We still plan to connect with our SIEM
As long as it continues to save my team time and keep our org safe, we'll keep renewing.

Post implementation we had some questions to resolve. Support was able to help us to change a configuration and setup an integration with Virustotal.
