Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus

We are using KnowBe4 for educational purposes, as well as logging phishing attempts to the orgainzation. As a small IT department, it has been a fantastic tool to get a overall vision of stengths and areas that need to be enhanced. We can then take information and provide better feedback to KnowBe4 to allow better protection against future spam attacks.

Pros

  • Great overall vision on how to build training and resources for better secuirty
  • Allows for presonalized focus on individuals and how to give them better, more focused training.
  • Allows to show leadership trends and patterns in graphical form

Cons

  • The spam control is most reliant on human interaction to make it effective. It would be nice to see some more proactive controls
  • The intergration with 365 has been a little more complex than it should
  • Every time a staff member doesn't click on a link or open a bad email, saves me hours. Every time!
  • As a single IT person in the company, having a single point of view on starting a new teaching campaign, look at stats finding out who is struggling the most is worth ever cent.
  • I love the fact that everything has little to no impact on the network. The integration with our email is fantastic.
As a single IT person department, anytime I have a piece of software that can intelligently remove or flag malicious code is phenomenal. Every time something is identified and caught is a unreal savings in time and resources. The other thing that I appreciate is that it assembles information into nice metrics and reports to present to management and insurance so they can see the progress that we are making as an organization.
We have not implemented any of those features yet. They are on the board to start bringing onboard over the next few months.
It is so easy, to implement, understand and bring out perennate stats that make my job easier. It is practical but also provides meaningful metrics and graphs that I can present to management so they can have a easy way to see where we are on our cybersecurity journey.
There was overlap with the Coro which is a MDR solution however it did have it's own version Phish protection. What it lacks is the education component which is so important.

What I like about PhisherER is that it is really easy to implement and role out to staff. The feedback is instant and really assists with with learning opportunities. Our instances of people clicking on spam or opening an email that may contain malware, keeps going down, month over month. It really is an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Configuring KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus

It is what we need and has been a great tool for the staff and council to learn
The best advice is to plan out your education campaigns far in advance. I got behind and it was a pain to try to get caught up.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface

  • Building a list of sites/ip addresses that we can block
  • Having a measure of our our cybersecurity model is maturing or not
  • Using our metrics to keep our cybersecurity policy costs down
  • It has helped educating not only our staff but it has rippled into others like spouses and partners and helping them learn and keeping their work places healthier.
It's not a given as we will look at some of the competitors like Proofpoint to see where we are at.
